IMPLANTA dental implant is an artificial tooth root replacement and is usually used to support a crown (otherwise called a restoration or prothesis). There are several types of dental implants offerred depending on bone density, tooth structure, location, etc. A variation on the implant procedure is the implant-supported bridge, or implant-supported denture.
CROWNS
A crown is most often recommended to restore a tooth structure. It generally consists of removing the tooth's decayed structure, along with part of the healthy tissue, so that enough space is provided for the aritifical cap that will allow the tooth to live and thrive. There are several types of crowns offerred, the most common types are porcelain, inceram, porcelain over gold or metal, gold, or zirconium.
DENTURE
A denture is a prosthesis that is created to replace missing teeth. It is supported by surrounding soft and hard tissue in the oral cavity and can either be bonded or clipped to the teeth, or made as removable.
